Kozlov (German Koslau , also Kozlau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northeast of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Kozlov is located in the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Upland) belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the basin of the Šípský creek. To the north rises the knoll Na Kopaninách and to the east the Šibeník (586 m). The railway lines from Žďár nad Sázavou to Brno and Velké Meziříčí , which fork south of Kozlov, pass through the village . The train station in Kozlov is called Křižanov .

Neighboring towns are Dobrá Voda and Jívoví in the north, Křižanov in the east, Ořechov and Ronov in the southeast, Sviny in the south, Lhotky in the southwest, Nové Dvory and Mostiště in the west and Vídeň in the northwest.

history

Kozlov

First documented the place in 1358 in Brno was Landtafel as Jindřich of Balinka the village Balinka was hereditary transmitted to Zdich of Kozlov. Kozlov later came to the property of the Cistercian monastery Saar . In the middle of the 15th century, Vladike Mikuláš von Kozlov had a fortress built. The village was destroyed in 1483 during the Bohemian-Hungarian War and rebuilt 300 m north. In 1483 Jan von Kladno received goods including the Freihof and the desert festivals. He sold the goods in Kozlov in 1494 to the governor of Moravia, Jan von Lomnice and Meziříčí. In 1609 Tomáš Soběhrd von Kozlov acquired Kozlov from Václav von Radostín together with the Ostrov estate . Jan Volf Meziříčský von Kozlov was knighted in 1614. After the Battle of the White Mountain in 1624 he lost his property and went into exile in Skalice in Hungary. Cardinal Franz Xaver von Dietrichstein received his goods .

After the abolition of patrimonial Kozlov formed from 1850 a district of the market Krzizanau in the district of Velké Meziříčí . In 1866 Kozlov became independent. At the beginning of 1961 the Okres Velké Meziříčí was dissolved and the municipality was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1976 it was incorporated into Křižanov , and the municipality has existed again since 1990.
