history

In the Horkawald there was a medieval fortress that went out in the 13th century. Their function was taken over by a fortress north of the old on the Kopeček, to which 320 bushels of fields belonged. In 1364 the fortress Orziechowe was first mentioned in writing together with the village of the same name as part of the Ossaw rule . Orziechowe was sold in 1366 and returned to the Osové rule at the beginning of the 15th century . Subsequent owners were u. a. the lords of Doubravice and Osové .

In 1552 Orzechau became a small dominion under Jan Přepyský von Rychemburk. Before 1596, to the left of the Bítýška near the village of Orzechau, the New Orzechau fortress was built, which together with the old knight's seat served as the manor's seat. In 1609 Lev Burian Berka von Dubá and Lipa bought the estate from Alena von Meziříčí. Other owners were u. a. Wilhelm Munk von Eibenschütz and after the Battle of the White Mountain Cardinal Franz Xaver von Dietrichstein . In 1687 Johann Paul von Gaar sold the Neu Orzechau estate to Dominik Andreas von Kaunitz . This hit them on June 4, 1687 in Krizanau . With that the fortress Orzechau lost all function and fell into disrepair. At the end of the 17th century, a glassworks was built in the northern forecourt of the fortress. In 1726 the goods were sold to the Cistercian monastery in Saar . There was a distillery at the festival, which was supplied with water on the Horka forest and springs near Ořechov. After the abolition of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms, Karl Endsmann von Ronow acquired the property in 1784. He had the estate parceled out and in addition to the stately stables and sheep farm, 28 settler sites were created. From then on, the former festival served as a stately forester's house. The new settlement was named after him as Ronow. In 1821 a school was established in Ronow.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ronov formed from 1850 a district of the market town Křižanov in the district administration Velké Meziříčí. In 1867 Ronov became part of the new municipality of Ořechov. At the beginning of 1961 the place was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Between 1980 and 1990 Ronov was a district of Osová Bítýška , since then it has belonged again to Ořechov. In 1991 the place had 100 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 40 houses in which 97 people lived. A large granite quarry is operated in the Horkawald to the south-east of the village.
