history

The village was probably founded by the descendants of Stephen II of Medlov during the colonization of the Moravian border forests with Bohemia and belonged to the Pernstein domain . Dankowicz was first mentioned in a document in 1350, when Filip von Pernstein sold his property to Jimram von Pernstein. There is evidence of a judge in Dankowicz since 1483 . At that time the place consisted of seven properties. When the Pernstein rule was divided, Daňkovice became part of the Neustadtl - Ingrowitz part in 1500 and from 1564 to 1848 the village was part of the Ingrowitz rule. In 1750 Daňkovice consisted of eight farms and 13 cottagers. The oldest surviving local seal also dates from this time. According to the Josephinian patent of tolerance , the majority of the residents of Dainkowitz converted to Protestantism after 1782 and joined the Reformed Church in Ingrowitz. A wooden prayer house was built between 1785 and 1788, which was replaced by a stone building in 1818. In 1830 the Protestant branch church changed to the parish in neighboring Niemetzke .

After the abolition of patrimonial Daňkovice formed a municipality in the political district of Neustadtl from 1850 . The parish had 371 residents and its cadastre comprised 524 acres of land. The Jewish entrepreneur Emil Haas founded a rough tailoring shop in the 19th century, there were also three brick factories in Daňkovice and the residents earned extra income with the house weaving. With the support of the Protestant Church Aid Association Basel, a separate parish was established at the beginning of the 20th century, which separated from Niemetzke in 1904. In 1905 the Daňkovice branch was raised to the parish church.

In 1939, the Buchtův Kopec children's convalescent home opened west of the village. After the German occupation , the sanatorium was occupied by the Wehrmacht and converted into a training center for the Hitler Youth . Between 1944 and 1945 the Yermak partisan detachment operated in the area. On May 10, 1945 there was a shooting between partisans and the Wehrmacht. After the end of the Second World War, a TB cure was built in the sanatorium, which today is attached to the Nové Město na Moravě hospital as a cure for lung diseases and long-term therapy . The rough tailoring ceased operations in 1947. 1949 Daňkovice was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou. In 1973 the rectory burned down. An air traffic control system was built on Buchtův Kopec in 1970. In 1980 it was incorporated into Sněžné. The Daňkovice municipality has existed again since 1990.
