history

The place was created during the last phase of colonization in the border area between the Neustadtl dominion and the Ingrowitz dominion and the Bohemian dominion Richenburg . In 1587 the area was named Millowy meadows. Wilhelm Dubský von Třebomyslice had the Millauer pond built on the Schwarzbach in 1610 and the Millowybach and Neustiftbach introduced into it. The village was founded in 1731 when the Neustadtl lordship allowed three subjects to build chalets on the Millowy meadows. After an iron and wire hammer, fresh fire and blast furnace were built by Karel Homoláč in 1740, the settlement grew. The facilities were expanded in 1760 to include a stamping mill for processing iron ore and extracting iron from slag. In 1790 there was a manorial farm in the village, which was later expanded to include a herbal brandy distillery.

In 1825 the trade route from Nové Město na Moravě to Svratka was established . The furnace was blown out forever in 1830. In 1835 a glassworks was founded in Bohemian Millau, where residents of Moravian Millau also earned their living. Until 1848 the place remained subject to the rule Neustadtl.

After the abolition of patrimonial Moravské Milovy / Mährisch Millau formed from 1850 a district of the market town of Německý in the political district of Neustadtl . The hammer mill ceased operations in 1869. The tourist development of the village began in the 20th century. In 1935 the tourist hotel Devět Skal designed by Alois Chocholáč was built by the pond . After the Communists came to power, the hotel was nationalized in 1948 and converted into a union vacation home. 1961 the place was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1989 the construction of the large OREA hotel Devět Skal began . In 1991 the place had 16 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 11 houses in which 22 people lived.

Today Milovy is one of the most important recreational areas in the Saar mountains. There is a car campsite at Milovský rybník.
