history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1346. Until the 15th century it was the seat of the Vladiken von Rozseč. Bedřich von Rozseč sold half of his farm to Mikuláš von Rožínka in 1352. This share then came to Jan von Lomnice, he passed it on to Ondřej Dunajov in 1356. The entire estate was owned by Ondřej von Březí in 1451, followed by Jan Osvitín von Rozseč at the end of the 15th century. After 1550 Jan von Nová Ves and Radkov bought the property. Then the village went out. When Jan Humpolecký von Rybenský added the Rojetín manor to his rule Ossowa in 1617 , Rozseč was listed as a new establishment.
The old village may have stood on the Na pustým square north of Rozseč , where the remains of the wall and parts of an old aqueduct were found. There an iron pike was washed out during a flood in 1892, according to old traditions a castle should have stood there. The village was originally parish to Hermannschlag and later came to the parish of Březí.
After the abolition of patrimonial Roseč formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Březí in the district administration Groß Meseritsch . At the end of the 19th century, the village was reassigned to Borovník . Since 1908 Roseč has formed its own municipality, which was named Rozseč in 1924 . From 1949 the community belonged to the Okres Velká Bíteš, in 1961 it was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
