Matějov

Matějov (German Mategow , also Matiegow , 1940–45 Matheshof ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers southwest of Žďár nad Sázavou and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Matějov is located on the right side over the valley basin of the Oslava in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the edge of the protected landscape area CHKO Žďárské vrchy . The Moravian town is 700 m east of the historical border with Bohemia . To the northeast is the Matějovský rybník ( Mategow Pond ) and in the southeast, the Veselský rybník ( Wesseller Pond ), another large pond. To the north rises the Židovská (602 m), in the southwest of the Na Hranicích (632 m) and in the northwest of the Rosička (644 m).

Neighboring towns are Sázava and Česká Mez in the north, Hamry nad Sázavou and Radonín in the northeast, Budeč in the east, Nové Veselí in the southeast, Újezd in the south, Sirákov and Poděšín in the southwest, Nížkov in the west and Rosička in the northwest.

history

The place was created in the second half of the 13th century during the settlement of the Moravian border forest on the Libitzer Steig trade route leading to Bohemia by the lords of Lomnice on Meziříčí . It is believed that the village was founded between 1281 and 1297 and settled by German colonists. Tassendorf was first mentioned in writing in 1366, when the widow of Adam von Konice passed the settlement received from her brother Jan von Tasov on to Jan von Meziříčí. After his death, Tassendorf fell back to Jan von Tasov, who signed it to Lacek I von Krawarn . The first evidence of a judge in Tassendorf was made in 1411 by Lacek I, who confirmed the rights of the judge Augustin. Since Lacek died in 1416 without descendants, Tassendorf Heinrich von Krawarn fell to Plumlov , who fell in the battle of Vyšehrad in 1420 . The Meziříč estate was inherited by Václav Kravarn of Strážnice . When his brother Jiří sold the rule Meziříčí to the governor Jan von Lomnice in 1447, the village was first referred to as Mathyegow .

After the death of Jan II of Lomnice, the Meziříčí estate was divided into six parts among the heirs. Mathyegow came to Wesele , which belonged to Vladislav Meziříčský from Lomnice. During his reign, the Matějovský rybník was probably also created. From 1531 there was a further division and subsequently Johann von Pernstein gradually acquired all the shares and had the Veselský rybník pond created. Johann's sons sold the property in 1552 to the Vice Chancellor of the Kingdom of Bohemia, Sigmund Held von Kement. In the same year he established the New Wessely manor , to which Matějov was connected. In 1562 Held appointed his second wife, Alena Meziříčský of Lomnice, a daughter of the previous owner Vladislav Meziříčský of Lomnice, as heiress of New Wessely. The oldest local seal comes from the 1670s. Subsequently, the rule passed to the Berka von Lomnice and in 1706 to Franziska Rosalia Kinsky . In 1709 she sold the rule to the abbot of the Saar Cistercian monastery , Václav Vejmluva. After the abolition of the monastery, Matějov fell to the religious fund in 1784. In 1826 Joseph Wratislaw von Mitrowitz acquired the Saar and Neu Wessely estates. The Dietrichsteiners followed him .

After the abolition of patrimonial Matějov / Mategow formed from 1850 with the district Čechomez (Česká Mez) a municipality in the political district of Neustadtl . At that time the village had 281 inhabitants. Since 1949 the community has belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou , at the same time Česká Mez was moved to Sázava. Matějov has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2003.
