Franz Rath

Franz Rath (born June 22, 1932 in Eltville am Rhein ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Rath began as a camera assistant in the early 1950s and was part of the team of three cameramen in 1952 for the biography The obedient rebel about Martin Luther . Since 1957 he was employed by television, later he worked as a freelancer.

As head cameraman from 1961 he made documentary and industrial films . He became known in 1966 with Volker Schlöndorff's The Young Törless , which was also Rath's first full-length feature film.
