Sperling and the Wrong Friend is a German TV film directed by Guido Pieters from 1998 . It is the sixth episode of the ZDF crime film series Sperling with Dieter Pfaff in the title role.

action

The chief inspector Hans Sperling finds the struck down, Turkish-born Sabri and helps him up, catching a lumbago . As a concession, Sabri invites Sperling to a steam bath and tells him that his Bulgarian friend Zenia is being forced into prostitution and that he cannot help him get her out of the milieu. When he goes to the nightclub with his assistant Karsten Rohde and speaks to Zenia, she reacts strangely. Sperling learns that Sabri lied to him. Zenia is not his girlfriend, he brought Zenia and her sister Lidia from Bulgaria to Germany to force them into prostitution.

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave the film the best possible rating, they pointed with the thumbs up. They stated: "Charming investigator with brisk dialogue wit".
