Christian Wittmann (* 1967 in Munich ) is a German director , author and actor .

Live and act

Christian Wittmann completed an acting training at the drama school Zinner Studio in Munich from 1983 to 1986. From 1987 to 2019 he had appearances at the Staatstheater Bremen (1989-90), Theater Lübeck (1991-92), Schauspielhaus Wien ( 1993-94), Renaissance theater in Berlin (1996), at the Volksbühne Berlin (1997), at the Wiener Festwochen (1997), at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel (1998), Landestheater Linz (2001), at the Ruhrtriennale (2003), Hebbel am Ufer (2004–2006), Theater am Neumarkt Zurich (2005), Societätstheater Dresden (2010), at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (2011), Theater an der Parkaue (2014), at the Herrenhausen Art Festival (2016) and at the Marburg Theater (2016) .

Wittmann has appeared in feature films, television films and series since 1993. In the radio play area he works as an author, director and speaker for BR , WDR , DLF , NDR , SWR and RB . Since 2000 he has directed at the State Theaters in Linz and Schleswig-Holstein . Together with zeitblom and René Liebert , he realizes live performance projects, audiovisual performances and installations as well as performative concerts, etc. a. for House of World Cultures in Berlin, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf , City of Ulm and Academy of the Arts Berlin .

Christian Wittmann lives in Berlin .
