action

Norbert Krause, the owner of the barge "Möwe", would like to retire after 40 years and says goodbye to the lock keeper with a wine present. While the voyage continued, sailor Jérôme Boucher made him an offer to renovate the decrepit "Seagull". Krause doubts that he has the necessary funds. Because of their argument, they overlook Chief Detective Max Palu, his girlfriend Ingrid, his assistant Gregor and Pauline who are going on a boat trip. Gregor goes overboard and the "Möwe" just keeps going.

Sybille and Werner Krause try again at the bank to postpone the installment payments for a million dollar loan. Banker Decker makes it clear to Sybille that the "Seagull" will be auctioned if the 150,000 marks are not paid within a week. In the evening, the inland shipping association honors Krause's services. Its chairman wants to turn the "seagull" into a museum. So he would also be interested in a foreclosure auction. At the next table, Sybille tells her father about the conversation with Decker. His sailor's offer occurs to him. This can no longer be found on the barge for a consultation.

The next morning, Boucher is found dead in the canal by a walker. The only friend of Bouchers in Saarbrücken is said to have been the bum "Tick". His roommate Tanja suggests that "Boucher wants to make it up when he has the money". As a small dealer he was on record in France. So it makes sense to search the barge in which Boucher lived with sniffer dogs. From the bank, two obscure figures observe what is happening with binoculars. And indeed: cocaine is found.

Tick, who urgently needs a shot, leads the inspectors to the two men from the crime scene on the canal. One can then be identified as drug trafficker Thomas Fahnenburg and the other as his gorilla Malte Chiric. Palu pins his old informant Marcel on their heels. But he doesn't notice how Fahnenburg and Chiric appear at Zecke and Tanja. However, that was only productive for the two drug addicts.

Werner Krause actually seems to have been right with his jealousy towards the banker: his wife Sybille tries to wrap Decker around his finger. Father Norbert, who happened to see this, is horrified. But he may find another solution to get rid of all financial worries, as after some thought he finds the hiding place with the cocaine. The situation turns when Decker falls unhappy after a physical attack with Werner Krause. The dead are thrown into the canal. The Krauses are now looking for a buyer for the cocaine, while the commissioners are looking for reasons for the banker's death. And suddenly everything happens very quickly: The dealers want to force Krause to hand over the cocaine when Palu and Gregor join them. There is an exchange of fire. Fahnenburg can flee. For this Chiric unpacks, because he has to fear that Fahnenburg blames him for everything. But he still has one trump card in his pocket: the crime knife. Fahnenburg threatens Krause, if he doesn't get the material out of him in an hour, he'll kill everyone. In the showdown, Fahnenburg gives up, and Zecke can pile up with the material.
