Erhard Schmied (born January 16, 1957 in Rüsselsheim ) is a German author and writer .

Life

Erhard Schmied passed his Abitur at a business high school , after which he studied psychology . A writing seminar by Arnfrid Astel at the Saarbrücker Universität des Saarlandes ( Saarbrücker Schule ) aroused his interest in writing. At the beginning of the 1980s he began writing poems and short stories, in 1984 Schmied was a district author for St. Johann . After the idea for a crime scene episode was successfully implemented ( Blue Lady with Jochen Senf as Inspector Palu ), Schmied visited the script workshop in Munich . In 1999 and 2000 the scripts for two more Tatort episodes from Saarbrücken followed.

Schmied now focused entirely on writing scripts and especially radio plays, as well as plays for children and young people. Every now and then he works on fabrics for different media. An example of this is Just Away , which was first released in a theater version for children in 2004 and broadcast as a radio play a year later. In 2016, it was finally edited as a short novel under the title Unheimlicher Visiting and published by a specialist publisher. Between 1990 and 1994 Schmied wrote numerous episodes of the legendary radio series Papa, Charly said… , since 2010 he has been writing the books for the radio crime scene of the Saarland broadcasting company, alternating with Madeleine Giese .

Schmied also leads workshops and seminars at home and abroad, including for the Friedrich Bödecker districts in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, the Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern , the cantons of Zurich and Lucerne, and the Goethe-Institut Paris. He teaches dramaturgy, scenic writing and radio plays at the Saarland University and the Lucerne University of Education .

Erhard Schmied is married, has two children and lives in Saarbrücken.
