Hans Bernhard Schiff Literature Prize
The Hans-Bernhard-Schiff-Literaturpreis is a culture award of the Saarland capital Saarbrücken . It was first awarded in 1997 in memory of the author Hans Bernhard Schiff , who was born in Berlin in 1915, has lived in Saarland since 1947 and died there in 1996 .
The literary advancement prize, endowed with € 5,000, is awarded for short texts of a maximum of 8 pages, which are closely related to the Saar-Lor-Lux region in terms of content or the person of the author . It is awarded annually in December. The submitted texts can be in German, French, Luxembourgish or in the regional dialects of the Saar-Lor-Lux region, the genre can be freely selected. In addition to the main prize, the jury also has the opportunity to award a sponsorship prize of 500 euros. For the first time in 2013, the Hans Bernhard Schiff Literature Prize was advertised in two categories: previously unpublished authors were eligible for the € 1000 sponsorship prize, and published authors the main prize, worth € 4000.
