action

The young takeaway owner Mike Keller is celebrating the birthday of his girlfriend Mascha Nibur. The young entrepreneur has money worries, the creditors are on his neck. Meanwhile, Margit Palu announces that her nephew Patrick will be visiting for four weeks. The next day, excavators roll up to demolish Mike's snack bar. As he did not pay the transfer on time, his rights to the stand have expired, even though he bought and paid for the food truck and all the equipment for it. Meanwhile, Palu picks up Margit's nephew from the train station. Mascha calls on Mike's creditor Lohmann. Meanwhile, Lohmann's wife Corinna sleeps with her lover Gerry Adler, who is also the father of Corinna's child. Meanwhile, Lohmann demands sex from Mascha to help her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Mike and his friend Jürgen drive his food truck in front of Lohmann's office building to give it back and get his money back. Mascha escapes from Lohmann's office, when Corinna and Gerry arrive shortly afterwards in Lohmann's office, Lohmann is stabbed on the floor with scissors in the back. Mike kneels next to the corpse, but protests his innocence. Palu has Mike arrested, when Palu then wants to question Mascha, she tells him that he had taken her innocent father to prison and that he killed himself. He wasn't going to kill her friend too.

Mike continues to plead his innocence in the presidium, the murder weapon only has Mike's fingerprints, if others had been on them, Mike blurred them. Palu briefly meets his colleague Bienzle from Stuttgart in the presidium. Masha goes to Palu's house to get him to release her boyfriend, but Palu tells her that there is nothing he can do for Mike based on the evidence. Corinna Lohmann meanwhile goes through the business files with Adler and says that Lohmann has kept almost all business secrets from her. Deininger comes into the office and sees them both in familiar poses. During the survey, Adler stated that he and Lohmann were equal partners. There were two life insurances, one in favor of Corinna and one mutual, which is now in favor of Adler, in order to secure the deal. In the evening, Mike's friend Jürgen Mascha becomes intrusive, he says she doesn't need to wait for Mike because he is getting life sentence anyway. She throws him out of the apartment. The next morning, Mascha Margits kidnaps nephew Patrick, who wanted to go to the bakery for Palu. She takes Patrick to a disused factory, where she locks him up. Mascha calls Margit and says that the child will only survive if Mike is free. In the meantime, Masha learns that Patrick is not Palu's son, but she still keeps him hostage. Deininger, meanwhile, informs Palu that Corinna Lohmann and Adler are having a relationship and will benefit financially from Lohmann's death. The public prosecutor Dr. Lenius informs Palu that he should not be involved in the investigation into this case because he is personally affected, the BKA and Deininger should find the boy.

Meanwhile, Bienzle offers to help Palu with the investigation, which Palu gratefully accepts. The two commissioners look for Mike in his cell, he refuses to influence his girlfriend in favor of the child. Meanwhile, Margit tries to persuade Palu to release Mike to save Patrick. She has no understanding of his official obligations. Deininger finds a photo in Mascha's shared apartment that was taken in the old ironworks in Völklingen. Jürgen reports to the officers that his car was stolen by Mascha. Mascha makes another blackmail call to Palu, which can be traced, the call came from Völklingen. Deininger tells Palu about the old ironworks, the officers go there immediately, but Mascha notices the police in time and can escape with the boy at the last second. Palu drives to the Lohmann / Adler office building and follows Corinna and Adler to a restaurant where the two present themselves as a couple. Palu comes to their table and asks them, they are unimpressed. From forensic medicine, Palu found out the next morning, although he was no longer responsible, that Lohmann's murderer was not standing behind him, but in front of him, and that the scissors rammed into his back to the side. Lohmann would hardly have allowed a stranger so close to him. Therefore, Palu Lohmann's partner Adler provisionally arrested on suspicion of murder. Palu's superior and the public prosecutor follow Palu's theses and release Mike. Mike is followed by the police, but manages to outrun his pursuers.

Mascha and Mike meet again, but Mike does not want to release Patrick yet as the two of them need money to escape. Mascha then shows Mike a revolver that she stole from Jürgen. Mike calls Palu and tells him that he wants 250,000 DM to get the boy free. When Mike Mascha again asserts that he did not kill Lohmann, she replies that nobody knows this better than she. She tells him that Lohmann wanted her to have sex and immediately attacked her. She thinks about facing the police, but Mike tries to talk her out and says they'll be fine. Mike calls Palu again to clarify how the money will be handed over. The cell phone can meanwhile be located, Mike and Mascha are with the boy at a village fair just across the border on French soil. When the French police want to catch the two, Mike shoots a policeman, who is critically injured and dies shortly afterwards in hospital. Meanwhile, based on the trace evaluation, it can be determined that it was Mascha Lohmann, not Adler, who killed. Meanwhile, Palu organizes the handover of the money with his superior. It is agreed that the officers will only gain access when the boy is free.

Palu goes to the old ironworks in Völklingen with his wallet. He wants the boy first before handing over the money. After the boy is free, Palu sends the boy out of the industrial building. Palu points out to Mike and Mascha that there is far less money in their pockets. He tries to get Mike to give up and then promises to help him as best he can. Mike and Mascha try to escape without Palu. After a chase, the couple take refuge on the roof of one of the industrial buildings and jump to their deaths before Palu's eyes.
