Tamsin Oglesby

Tamsin Oglesby (born 1965 ) is a British playwright and director.

Life

Oglesby's first play Two lips indifferent red was premiered in 1995 at the London Bush Theater, and her other pieces were also performed on small stages in London's off-theater scene, at the Hampstead Theater and the Tricycle Theater, as well as at the Birmingham Rep.

Oglesby worked as a director for the London Fringe Festival and for established stages such as the Royal Court Theater , the Cottesloe Theater (300 seats, now the Dorfman Theater ) of the Royal National Theater . She is writing an adaptation of Russell Hoban's The Mouse and his Child for the 2012/13 theater season for the Royal Shakespeare Company .

Her first piece, Richtig alt, so 45 , published in German translation, premiered in 2011 at the Kammerspiele of the Landestheater Linz , translation and direction: Christian Wittmann, and in 2012 at the Schauspiel Essen . This was followed in 2012 and also at the Landestheater Linz, the world premiere of her play Ephebiphobia (fear of teenagers), direction and translation: Christian Wittmann, which was then staged on other German-speaking theaters , and in 2013 Der (imagined) Frauenfeind (WP) director: Gerhard Willert, and finally My Best Friend (DSE) in 2016 , directed by Hans-Ulrich Becker, both translated by Christian Wittmann.
