Georg Zeitblom (usually just called Zeitblom ; * May 7, 1962 in Rosenheim as Georg S. Huber ) is a German musician and performance artist . He is a bass player, composer and producer , realizes radio plays, theater, ballet and film music and appears in various groups as a live musician.

Live and act

Georg Zeitblom is a trained electric bass player . In 1984 he founded the avant rock band "Sovetskoe Foto", in which he played until 1993. He was able to expand his musical experience through meetings with musicians such as Pyrolator , Fred Frith , John Zorn , Arto Lindsay , Zeena Parkins , Bern Nix and James George “Foetus” Thirlwell .

From 1994 to 1996 Zeitblom was a member of the improvisation ensemble “ThoThmann Anlagen” (with Kalle Laar and Jack Hauser , among others ), with Christian Fennesz he formed the electronic duo “Golden Tone”. In 2003 he founded the experimental rock band "The no ensemble" with Alexander Hacke and Rudi Moser, two musicians from the Einstürzende Neubauten .

Together with Kalle Laar he realized several projects such as Das Warheads-Oratorium (1997), Metropolis (2001), M - a city is looking for a murderer (2003) and Hangmen Also Die (2005). Metropolis was named Radio Play of the Year in 2001 and won a silver medal at the New York Festival.

In 2000, together with Peter Rantasa and Christian Fennesz, he realized a tank filled with 700 liters of salt water as a "bio-adapter". With this arrangement, which goes back to John Lilly , who gave Oswald Wiener her name, he was concerned with hearing experiences. A mix of heart and breath sounds and electronic sounds played over underwater speakers was burned onto a CD for tank visitors.

Zeitblom lives in Berlin .
