Jack Hauser (* 9. October 1958 as Gerhard Robert Hauser in Horn ) is a provider of in different divisions of Austrian artists. He occasionally appears under the collective pseudonym Luther Blissett .

Life

Hauser graduated from the HBLVA for the chemical industry in Vienna . After graduating from high school in 1979, he worked as a biochemist until 1983 . Between 1983 and 1985 he studied electroacoustic music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .

At first he made experimental films influenced by Kurt Kren and Peter Kubelka . Jack Hauser has appeared as an improvisation musician since 1983, and as a performer at the Panta Rhei Theater from 1990 to 1994 . Since 1989 he has been writing experimental crime novels with David Ender in the tradition of Walter Serner . In 1992, Hauser began staging film performances in living rooms and salons with specially built film and projector installations under the name EX.FILMWARE. In 1994 he co-founded the performance collective Lux Flux . From 1994 to 1996 he was a member of the improvisation ensemble ThoThmann Anlagen (among others with Kalle Laar and Zeitblom ). Under the title “The Name. The case. The adventure. ”Jack Hauser creates artistic works that are committed to the fantastic with a documentary working method as a synthesis.

He works with the artist Markus Schinwald , the dance performer Sabina Holzer, the composer Karlheinz Essl and the artist duo Machfeld .
