Peter Martin Hetzel (born December 19, 1960 in Meisenheim ; † June 29, 2014 ) was a German literary critic , journalist and author .

Life

After graduating from high school, Hetzel did his community service and completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk . At Rowohlt Verlag he worked as an editor of detective novels . In his professional capacity, he was in a shipment of 1,987 Sat.1 - Breakfast television invited. The broadcaster suggested that he switch to television journalism. Since 1987 he has been working for Sat.1's breakfast television. He wrote TV and book reviews and conducted interviews with Günter Grass , Martin Walser , Maximilian Schell , Mario Adorf , Frederick Forsyth, Michael Crichton , Umberto Eco and others. On December 22, 2012, he presented the 4200th book on Sat.1.

He wrote books for young people in the series Die coolen Haie , which were published by Baumhaus-Verlag Bergisch Gladbach .
