The Higher Federal Training and Research Institute for the Chemical Industry , also known as HBLVA Rosensteingasse , is a technical and commercial training institute in the 17th district of Hernals in Vienna .

Architecture and history

The building was built from 1907 to 1910 according to the plans of the architects Julius Deininger and Wunibald Deininger and expanded in the late 1980s to cope with the increasing number of trainees. In 2010 the school celebrated its 100th anniversary.

In 2017 the green area behind the school (facing Gschwandnergasse) was named Hermine Weinreb Park .

Educational offer

The school consists of a higher education institution (5 years old with Matura ) with around 600 students, a technical school (4 years old with final exams) with around 200 students and semester-by-semester forms in day and evening classes with a total of around 200 students. A state-authorized research institute is attached to the school.

In 2018, around 1,000 students attended the higher federal teaching and research institute for the chemical industry. The proportion of female students is around a third.

After three years of general chemical training, a specialization takes place in the 4th and 5th year:

After two years of general chemical training, the 3rd and 4th grades specialize in the following areas:

  • Technical college for chemical technology - specialization in biochemistry and biotechnology
  • Technical college for chemistry - training focus on environmental analysis

In the day and evening classes there are also two specializations after a common basic chemical education:
