Sparrow and the Trapped Cat

Sperling and the Cold Fear is a German TV film directed by Uwe Janson from 2007 . It is the eighteenth and last episode of the ZDF crime film series Sperling with Dieter Pfaff in the title role.

action

Chief Inspector Hans Sperling observes residents of a Berlin backyard in order to track down a drug ring. For security reasons, the technician Konrad provided all the apartments in and around the backyard with bugs. This gives Sperling a first glimpse of the residents and the circle of suspects is growing steadily through Konrad's photographs. For inexplicable reasons, Fatima has a bulletproof vest in her apartment and a planned terrorist attack in Berlin is named as a result of the wiretapping.

The film was shot from February 6, 2006 to March 9, 2006 in Berlin and the surrounding area. The episode was first broadcast on March 10, 2007 at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF .

Awards

Philipp Sichler was awarded the German Television Prize in 2007 for his camera work. Florian Drechsler received the award for the cut.

criticism

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave the film their best possible rating, they showed the thumbs up. They stated: "Explosive things from Berlin's backyards."

In the online edition of Tagesspiegel , Thilo Wydra pointed out that the episode took up the moment of involuntary or intentional voyeurism and used it as the dominant dramaturgical element. "It's all staged and acted in an oppressive way."

The media journalist Rainer Tittelbach summarized the last episode on his website tittelbach.tv : "Dieter Pfaff made the series a highlight of crime TV between 1996 and 2007."
