Esther Zimmering (* 6. January 1977 in Potsdam ) is a German actress .

Life

After first experiences in children's and youth theater, Esther Zimmering studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and took part in workshops with Enrique Vargas and Augusto Boal and with Paul Cox at the International Film School in Cologne .

She first became famous in 2002 at the side of Katja Studt and Anna Loos in the three-part film Der Liebe towards three friends who emigrated to New Zealand in the late 1950s . For her portrayals in Der Liebe gegen and the television film Der Fußfesselmörder she was awarded the German Television Prize in 2003 . 2004 Esther Zimmering was together with Maria Simon at the TV film festival in Baden-Baden with the Special Jury Prize for outstanding achievements in representational Little Sister excellent.

In 2005 she took on the leading role in the Bremen Tatort Scheherazade, which was awarded for its unusual camera work . In the TV film Tomorrow I Clean Up , Esther Zimmering plays a single mother who is overwhelmed by everyday life and who tries to get her life back under control. She has already stood in front of the camera with her brother, the actor David Zimmering , several times .

Esther Zimmering is also involved and exposed in public on political issues. So moderated and interviewed them in 2014 on the Rosa Luxembourg Conference the leftist daily Junge Welt or moderated jointly with the deputy chief editor of the young world , Sebastian Carlens , in May 2019 alliance meeting various solidarity initiatives under the slogan "Hands off Venezuela!" in Berlin, which opposed a possible coup against the Venezuelan government.

Esther Zimmering is the granddaughter of the GDR politician and diplomat Josef Zimmering (1911–1995).
