David Zimmering

David Zimmering (born June 3, 1975 in Potsdam ) is a German theater and film actor .

life and career

David Zimmering is the grandson of the German politician and diplomat Josef Zimmering (1911–1995). During his acting training he worked at the HfS-Berlin with Ursula Karusseit , later also with Käthe Reichel , Gerry Wolff and Hans-Joachim Hegewald . This was followed by engagements in theaters and in films. In addition to leading roles, he also appeared in four one-person plays .

After he was brought to the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden in 2003, he moved to Saxony four years later, from 2007–2012, to the Freiberg Central Saxon Theater .

Since the summer of 2012, David Zimmering has been playing on several stages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in addition to several television shoots. In 2013 he played the main role of "Pyotr Verkhovensky" at "Kult: Das neue Mühlfestival" in the performance The Demons by Fyodor Dostoyevsky . As a result of this production, the festival was awarded the Great Stage Art Prize of the State of Upper Austria in 2013. In 2014 he played "Sarturnius" in "The Barbarians" based on Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare . After the premiere, tips.at praised his acting performance as "well played". In the summer of 2015 he was on stage at the theater festival in Freistadt as “Voland / Mephisto”. The Kronen Zeitung classified his acting performance as Mephisto / Voland as "terrific". In the summer of 2016 he appeared on stage for the Spuktheater Berlin in the play Spuk im Hochhaus as "Ole" with his first ventriloquist dummy "Jimbo". In 2017 he played the roles of Demetrius and Peter Sequence in the Shakespeare comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Ekhof Theater in Gotha . In 2018 he gave the businessman "Peter Paul Sörgensen" in the world premiere of Jedermanns Schuld und Atonement . In their review, the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten emphasized how "brilliant" Zimmering and his partner balanced the characters "between great elegance, false love and nasty calculations."

Furthermore, David Zimmering has already stood in front of the camera several times with his sister Esther Zimmering , including in the film “Tomorrow I clean up”. In recent years he has played several television roles and, among other things, stood in front of the camera as Chief Inspector Jan Michalsky in 2014–2015 in the scripted reality format In Danger - A Fateful Moment . At the beginning of 2018 he was cast as Daniel Neffenbruck for the new RTL series Freundinnen - Paula und die High-Society . Since June 2018 he has also been working as a radio host. In February 2019, his film has been cultivating relationships in the shortlist of the short film competition 99Fire film award nominated. In 2020 he founded the production company "berliwerk".
