K11 - The New Cases is a pseudo-documentary in the style of a real-life crime series that is broadcast on the private broadcaster Sat.1 and so far consists of twelve seasons. It was broadcast for the first time with eleven seasons under the then title K11 - Commissioners in action . The last episodes of the format were filmed in October 2013 and broadcast on Sat.1 Gold in 2015 and 2016 . On January 14, 2020, it was announced that filming was planned for new episodes to be broadcast in the first half of 2020. The broadcast of the new episodes began on May 11, 2020. After an interruption, further new episodes have been broadcast since August 24, 2020.

action

In the series, the "everyday life" of four commissioners in the fight against crime is played. Chief Inspector Michael Naseband and his colleague, Chief Inspector Alexandra Rietz , run the K11 together . In their work they are Kriminaloberkommissar Philipp stealer, Detective Chief Commissioner Daniela trunk and Detective supports Max Katzenberger. The starting point of an episode is usually a murder case that needs to be solved. K11 - The new cases are based on the Whodunit principle (perpetrator unknown). Witnesses , relatives , perpetrators , victims and suspects are embodied by amateur actors , many of whom can be seen in multiple episodes.

Offshoot

In 2006, KTI - People Lies, Evidence Not, an offshoot of K11, started on Sat.1. The KTI pilot episode was based on an episode of K11 that aired on the same evening as the KTI pilot. The first season of the offshoot then ran on RTL II . After only nine of 30 episodes produced, the broadcast was canceled in 2007. From KTI, Commissioner Robert Ritter also came to the K11 in 2008.

Teams

At first, four detective superintendents took turns working in two teams on a weekly basis. One week Michael Naseband and Alexandra Rietz went on a hunt for criminals, the next was Jens Loors and Nicole Drawer. On July 11, 2004, in episode 180, almost a year after the start of the series, Drawer and Loors left the pseudo-documentary. Loors returned to the real police service and Drawer devotes himself to writing novels and since then has been Kabel eins at Achtung Kontroll! - Commitment to the law enforcement officers shows the top stories of the law enforcement officers , it can be seen there again and again.

The following three months were investigated by Alex Rietz and her colleague Michael Naseband on their own, until the start of the second season on October 11, 2004, when they were reinforced by the detective chief Branco Vukovic. In January 2006 he was transferred to Kosovo . On the same day, Gerrit Grass from the drug squad started working at K11.

At that time the heads of the Rietz and Naseband department were the chief detective and Gerrit Grass was just a simple detective. This changed in the episode Fear for the Public Prosecutor , broadcast in July 2006 , in which all three commissioners were promoted.

At the beginning of February 2008 the team was enlarged by Detective Inspector Robert Ritter. This came from the spin-off of K11, KTI - people lie, evidence doesn't .

Prosecutor Sevarion Kirkitadze has not appeared on K11 since season 8 , but there was neither an official exit nor a farewell episode.

After Commissioner Robert Ritter was wounded during an operation in March 2010, first police commissioner candidate Miriam Evers, later chief detective Stefan Bender, stepped in for him, but both were only seen in field operations and did not take part in any interrogation.

After Robert Ritter was promoted to chief detective, the team was reinforced by detective commissioner Cenk Demir at the end of January 2013.

In general, there are always two inspectors in the field and two in the office. They then mainly carry out the interrogations.
