Alexander Hold

Alexander Hold (born March 11, 1962 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) is a German lawyer , politician ( free voter ), author and former television actor and judge . He gained fame through the television court show Judge Alexander Hold . In the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 , he won a mandate as the Swabian top candidate for free voters. Since November 2018 he has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and the third Vice President of the State Parliament.

Hold received his Abitur at the Carl-von-Linde-Gymnasium Kempten . From 1981 to 1983 he was a reserve officer candidate with the medical battalion 210 in the Prinz-Franz-Kaserne in Kempten (Allgäu) and is captain of the reserve in the medical service of the Bundeswehr .

From 1983 to 1989 he studied law , political science and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Until 1992 he worked as a trainee lawyer in the higher regional court district of Munich . From 1992 to 1997 he worked as a public prosecutor in Kempten (Allgäu), mainly responsible for organized crime , drug offenses , smuggling , pimping , human trafficking and gambling .

On March 1, 1997, Hold was appointed a judge for life. He was then a judge until 2001, first at the Kempten Regional Court and then at the Kempten District Court . There he worked as a judge in civil cases, criminal judge , juvenile judge and investigative judge in Kempten, Füssen and Sonthofen .

From 2001 until he was hired in 2013, Hold was the main actor (" Presiding Judge ") in the daily TV court show Richter Alexander Hold on Sat.1 .

He was the first judge to get the 2003 weekly series Guilty? Fates in court has its own television series at prime time at 8:15 p.m. In this eight episode show, he explained spectacular criminal cases and their trial that were based on true crimes.

In December 2012, Sat.1 announced that the Richter Alexander Hold format would no longer be continued after 2040 episodes. The episodes of the series will continue to be broadcast, e.g. B. in 2016 a total of 1152 episodes.

Politician

On March 2, 2008 , Alexander Hold was elected to the city ​​council of Kempten on the list of free voters . He has been chairman of the parliamentary group there since 2014.

On September 15, 2013 Hold was elected for the Free Voters in the District Assembly of Swabia. He was sworn in there on October 10, 2013.

Nominated for the office of Federal President by the Free Voters and the Brandenburg United Citizens Movements / Free Voters (BVB / FW) , Hold received 25 votes in the Federal Assembly on February 12, 2017, although the FW and BVB / FW only had eleven votes.

In January 2018, Hold announced that he would run for the Bavarian state parliament in the state elections in autumn 2018 . He went to the polls as the top candidate of the Swabian District Association of Free Voters and achieved a state parliament mandate with the best overall result. In addition, he ran as a direct candidate in constituency 709 Kempten, Oberallgäu , for which he was unanimously nominated and achieved the second-best result behind the CSU candidate with 21.4% of the first votes. Furthermore, he entered the Swabian FW list at number 25 for the district council election and was re-elected to the Swabian district council.

At the beginning of November 2018, at the constituent session of the 18th Bavarian State Parliament, he was named III. Vice-President elected.

He is a member of the Landtag Presidium, the Council of Elders, the Committee on Constitution, Law, Parliamentary Questions and Integration, the parliamentary committee of the Landtag faction of Free Voters, the Judges' Election Commission and the Broadcasting Council of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation .

Since December 2018, he has also been District Chairman of the Swabian Regional Association of Free Voters in Bavaria and of the District Association of Swabia, the Free Voters Association of Bavaria .

In the local elections on March 15, 2020, he was re-elected with the best result of all city council candidates.

Honorary positions

Hold volunteers in many committees and associations. Among other things, he is a board member (legal advisor) in the Bavarian Red Cross district association Oberallgäu, board member in the Bavarian judges' association (district association Kempten) and chairman of SG TV Kempten - TSV Kottern handball. He is also on the supervisory boards of Theater Kempten gGmbH and the city of Kempten Service GmbH as well as the board of directors of Allgäuer Überlandwerk GmbH.

Hold has been committed to street children in Brazil and Haiti since 1995 .

Private life

Alexander Hold's father owned and operated the drugstore Hold on the former station square in Kempten. He himself grew up on Immenstädter Strasse in Kempten. In May 2018, after five years of relationship, he married the trained teacher Pia Große-Vehne. He is the father of two sons from his first marriage.
