history

In 1802 electoral Bavarian troops carried out the mediatization of the imperial city and the secularization of the Princely Monastery of Kempten . In 1804, a regional court of the older order was established in Kempten. The Kempten district office took over the administrative tasks from the regional court when administration and jurisdiction were separated in 1862. With the entry into force of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, the Kempten District Court was formed, the district of which was identical to the previous Kempten District Court district. Today's Kempten District Court emerged from the Kempten District Court founded in 1857 .
