The Regional Court Munich II is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of 22 Bavarian regional courts .

history

The forerunner of today's regional court is the Bavarian district court in Munich on the left bank of the Isar , founded in 1857 , which was converted into a regional court with the Courts Constitution Act of 1879 .

Seat

The Landgericht München II, as well as the for the state capital Munich and the Munich rural district competent Regional Court Munich I , based in the city of Munich. It thus has the peculiarity that it has its seat outside its judicial district.

District Court District

The judicial district of the Regional Court Munich II is in a ring around the state capital Munich and the district of Munich. It stretches from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in the south to the Dachau district in the north, from the Weilheim-Schongau district with the - now closed - district court branch in Schongau in the west to the Ebersberg district in the east and extends over 6,004 km 2 . About 1,012,000 people live in it.

In the past, the district courts of Ingolstadt and Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm (until the Ingolstadt district court was established in 1988) and the Erding and Freising district courts (until they were assigned to the Landshut district court in 1992) belonged to the district of the Munich II district court.

1,988 lawyers are admitted to the Munich II district court .

Courthouse

The President of the Regional Court, the Civil Chambers and the Chambers for Commercial Matters are located in the courthouse at 3 Denisstrasse. The criminal chambers and youth chambers are located in the criminal justice center at Nymphenburger Straße 16.

The Regional Court of Munich II is, along with the Regional Court of Munich I, one of ten regional courts over which the Munich Higher Regional Court is superordinate. Are subordinate to the Regional Court Munich II
