Ealing is a district of the London Borough of Ealing in west London. The surrounding neighborhoods are Pitshanger Village , Brentford , Acton , West Ealing , Perivale , Park Royal , Northfields and Gunnersbury .
Attractions
In Ealing is the Pitzanger Manor designed by Sir John Soane , which in the meantime was used as Ealing's public library and now serves as an exhibition building. In addition, the Walpole Park and the Ealing Studios follow. The neo-Gothic abbey church of the Benedictine monastery of Ealing Abbey is also noteworthy.
Ealing Studios
Ealing is known for its film studios. The Ealing Studios are the oldest in the world and are particularly known for comedies such as Adel , Blockade in London , Ladykillers and Luck Came Overnight . The studios were taken over by the BBC in 1955 , so locations in Ealing appear in films from Doctor Who to Monty Python's Flying Circus . A few years ago the studios were used again for film productions, such as Notting Hill , Being Serious is Everything , Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and The Girls of St. Trinian .
