The Weilheim District Court in Upper Bavaria is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 73 district courts in Bavaria . It is divided into two buildings, the main building at Alpenstrasse 16 and the auxiliary building at Waisenhausstrasse 5 in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria .

The history of the district court begins as early as the middle of the 11th century . In the 13th century , what was then the county of Andechs was awarded to the Wittelsbach dukes , after which a regional court organization began to be established. It was the beginning of the Pähl court , which was later renamed the Weilheim court. An important figure in the judiciary in Weilheim was Hans Heseloher (born around 1420), who was first appointed caretaker of Pähl and then district and city judge in Weilheim. A memorial plaque in the main building still reminds of him today. After his death, the seat of the district judge and nursing office was finally relocated from the Pähl Castle to Weilheim in 1520 . It was located in the Hofgasse in the "Ducal Nursing Castle", into which the tax office then moved. In 1879 the name was changed to Weilheim District Court.

The current building of the district court at Alpenstrasse 16, built in 1915 as accommodation for the military district command, was occupied in 1925. In 2006 the animal breeding office building at Waisenhausstrasse 5 was bought. The auction and bankruptcy court moved into the building on October 1, 2007, which was inaugurated on October 23, 2007.
