The Kaufbeuren district court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 73 district courts in Bavaria . Rita Ostenried is the director of the local court. The main building has the address Ganghoferstraße 9.

The district court is responsible for the cities of Kaufbeuren , Marktoberdorf , Füssen and the district of Ostallgäu . It is subordinate to the Kempten Regional Court .

history

The Kaufbeuren district court was established as early as 1804 in the course of the administrative restructuring of Bavaria . When the Courts Constitution Act came into force on October 1, 1879, a district court was formed in Kaufbeuren, the district of which was identical to the previous district court district of Kaufbeuren. The district court of Füssen , established in 1879, was downgraded to a branch of the district court in Kaufbeuren in 1970. It had premises in Füssen Castle . In 2005 the branch was closed and its district assigned to the district court in Kaufbeuren.
