Juvenile judge
The juvenile judge is a ruling body of the local court , which decides as a single judge on misconduct of young people (14 to 18 years) and adolescents (18 to 21 years) according to § 39 JGG .
Jurisdiction
He is responsible for the proceedings for which the youth lay judge or the youth chamber is not responsible, i.e. in those cases in which only the imposition of educational measures or disciplinary substances (as well as any additional penalties such as the driving ban ) can be expected. However, if it turns out at the main hearing that the defendant should be sentenced to a youth sentence, he can impose one for up to one year. As far as the juvenile judge applies general criminal law to adolescents or adults, his penal power extends, as with all criminal judges, up to a prison sentence of four years.
Negotiation, appeal against judgments
Like all juvenile courts , the juvenile judge hears in closed session if all the accused are juveniles. Against the judgments of youth judge its execution it upon application of juvenile law is also derived, which can remedy the calling or the revision to be inserted.
