Production and broadcast

At the end of January 2009, due to poor ratings, Sat.1 decided to forego the repetitions of Butterflies in the Belly and Anna and Love in the morning, and they resorted to Scripted Reality, which had already been produced in June 2008. Pure life - in the middle of Germany it was broadcast on the 10 o'clock slot. After insufficient ratings, the broadcaster announced on October 29th that it would refrain from broadcasting the program from November 16 with episode 181. However, since no optimal solution for the slot could be found, Sat.1 announced on December 17, 2009 that from January 10, 2010, old episodes would again be shown on the 10 o'clock slot. However, since this program change did not need the hoped-for increase in ratings, the series was stopped again on March 9, 2010.

On February 15, 2012 it was announced that old episodes, cut in half, will be broadcast on February 20, 2012 on the 5:30 pm slot. Since the regional program 17:30 is broadcast live in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Bremen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia at this time , the series could not be seen in these federal states. After a reasonable success, the program was broadcast at 6 p.m. There, in turn, the expectations of Sat.1 were not met and Pure Life - In the middle of Germany was replaced by neighbor against neighbor and country seeks love with initially convincing success.

On March 5, 2013, Sat.1 announced that the program would be broadcast from March 11, 2013 with new episodes and a length of 60 minutes (gross).

On April 2, 2013, Sat.1 announced that the program would be discontinued from April 8, 2013 due to poor ratings. The show Help me! Last rescue youth welfare office took over the broadcast slot.
