Police chief commissioner (POK) is an official designation of police enforcement officers in the German police in the career of the senior police enforcement service (depending on the federal state, other systems and designations have been introduced instead of the senior service category, e.g. 3rd qualification level). In the criminal police, there is a corresponding office as a criminal superintendent (KOK).

POK are classified in grade (BesGr) A 10. It is the first promotion office in the career of the senior service. You are the public prosecutor's investigator in all countries .

Police chief inspectors usually perform managerial tasks such as deputy duty group leaders , platoon leaders in a closed unit, security officers or first patrol leader .

Job holders in the 3rd qualification level have generally successfully completed a degree at a university of applied sciences and hold the academic degree of Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH) or a comparable Bachelor of Arts.

In some federal states, it is also possible to advance to the 2nd qualification level for POK without an examination. However, these officials have no managerial responsibilities.

The next lower official title is " Police Commissioner " (BesGr A 9), the next higher " Police Chief Commissioner " (BesGr A 11).

The rank badge of the police consists of two silver stars on a dark blue background. In the Water Police and the Federal Police Office lake two gold wires / strips each with 12 mm visible on navy blue background.
