Guard chief

Wachleiter (abbr. WL ) is a functional designation of an employee with a superior function who preside over a guard.

This term exists within the German Life Rescue Society or water rescue service ( water rescue service ), fire brigade ( fire watch ), the police (if the service group leader or his representative does not take over the security business), the rescue service and the German air traffic control . At the DLRG, the term was replaced by the term security officer . The term is also used in the water rescue service of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund.

In the police force, the head of the service group or his representative is usually the head of the watch in personal union .
