Esther Wenger
Esther Sabine Wenger (born April 3, 1958 in Bad Reichenhall ) is a German television director and producer .
Life
From 1987 to 1997 Wenger was the producer and managing partner of MEGAHERZ tv . In this role she was responsible for the production of the show Dingsda , among other things , where she took over the studio direction and interviewed the participating children. She also produced the children's magazine Zapprarapp for Bayerischer Rundfunk , the game show Bayern wins and Recht so! The television arbitration tribunal . She also developed and produced the series Thinking of Germany… .
From 1997 Wenger worked as a freelance director. She mostly staged episodes of established TV series such as Marienhof and In allerfreund . She also directed the television film A completely normal couple with Floriane Daniel and Steffen Wink in the lead roles. In 2012 she directed the Police Call 110 episode Birds of Prey .
In 1999 Wenger obtained a doctorate in philosophy . Her dissertation is entitled “Like on real television. The staging of the genders in television fiction. ”And deals with the different portrayals of women and men on television.
Wenger lives in Munich.
