Peter Henning (born July 20, 1956 in Hamburg ) is a German screenwriter and director .

Life

He studied media studies , literature and sociology in Osnabrück before beginning his studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). From 2004 to 2009 he taught screenwriting / dramaturgy at the ifs International Film School in Cologne . Since 2009 he has been a professor of film writing at the Film University Babelsberg "Konrad-Wolf" . Here he developed the research project for the development of the 180 ° cinema, "Journey of the Imagonauts" and directed it together with Professors Michael Hammon and Martin Steyer . The resulting 180 ° feature film Der Imagonaut premiered during the 2014 Berlinale as part of the Talent Campus.

The film Schande , which he directed with Claudia Prietzel , won the German Television Award for Directing in 1999 and the Prix Italia in 2000 . Several of his films were nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize .

In 2008/09 he staged the world premiere of the play Spurensuche by Francis C. Winter with Claudia Prietzel at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater , Hamburg.
