Claudia Prietzel

Claudia Prietzel (born September 8, 1958 in Gelsenkirchen- Horst) is a German actress , director and screenwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school, she trained in puppetry in Bochum . From 1978 to 1980 she trained as an actress in London , her teachers included Jacques Lecoq , Yoshi Oida , Sankai Juku and the Theater du Mouvement . From 1980 to 1984 she was a member of the Three Women theater group . She organized several shows developed through improvisation technique under her own direction. Tours all over Europe followed. In 1981 she was awarded the Edinburgh Theater Prize "Fringe First". She participated in two shows directed by Mike Figgis and Hilary Westlake .

Three Women were sponsored by the Arts Council and were part of the “Artists in Residence” program. Theater plays with prisoners and difficult-to-educate youngsters were developed.

From 1987 to 1992 she studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). She has been working as a director and screenwriter since 1992. She has various teaching positions for acting and directing and was a mentor for FilmAfrica !.

Awards

In 1999 Claudia Prietzel was awarded the German Television Prize in the category "Best Director of TV Film / Multi-Part" for the film Schande . In 2005 Scheherazade received the German Camera Award and the German Television Award for “Best Camera” Ngo The Chau; Television crime award 2006 “Best Supporting Act” for Oliver Mommsen
