Erdoğan Atalay (born September 22, 1966 in Hanover ) is a German actor .

Career

Erdoğan Atalay was a member of the Theater AG at IGS Garbsen and, at the age of 18, got a supporting role in the performance of Aladin and the Magic Lamp at the Theater am Aegi at the Hanover State Theater . In 1987 he began studying at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . After a few other small theater roles in Hamburg , he got guest roles in Einsatz für Lobeck , Doppelter Einsatz , Die Wache and Der Clown .

His breakthrough came in March 1996 with the lead role on Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei . To this day he plays the Turkish-born chief inspector Semir Gerkhan . His current shooting partner in the RTL action series has been actress Pia Stutzenstein since August 2020 . Atalay co-wrote the script for the 2000 episode "Checkmate" from Alarm for Cobra 11 . In 2005, a short story written by Atalay ( Turkey is up there ) appeared in the German-Turkish anthology What are you living? . In September 2012 he shot the short film "Alarm für Cindy 11", a parody of Alarm for Cobra 11 , together with Ilka Bessin (Cindy from Marzahn) . The short film was broadcast on September 15, 2012 in the show Cindy from Marzahn and the young wild ones.

His father is of Turkish origin and was an actor himself in Turkey ; the mother is German. Erdoğan Atalay, who does not speak Turkish himself , grew up with his sister with the family in Berenbostel . In 2004 he married the theater and film actress Astrid Ann-Marie Pollmann (* 1968), Pauletta Pollmann is their daughter. The couple separated at the end of 2009. In mid-July 2012, Atalay's second child, a son, was born; the mother is Atalay's partner, the make-up artist Katja Ohneck. His daughter Pauletta is also an actress and made her acting debut in 2012 in a supporting role in the SOKO-5113 episode For My Daughter , in which Atalay also played. Since 2014, Pauletta Pollmann has been impersonating his serial daughter Ayda Gerkhan in Alarm for Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei , succeeding Nicole Rusz , who previously played Ayda . Atalay got engaged to his partner Katja Ohneck on December 26, 2016 during a vacation with their son Maris in the Maldives.
