In 2002 filming began for the spin-off series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Einsatz für Team 2 . The protagonists here were the members of the Cobra-12 team, consisting of Chief Inspector Frank Traber ( Hendrik Duryn ) and Inspector Susanna von Landitz ( Julia Stinshoff ). (Duryn played twice in the original series, but with different roles each time: in the episode "Between the Fronts" (1998) as Gerry and in the episode "High Speed" (2001) as Klaus Weller. Duryn also played after that once more in the original series, also here in a different role: in the episode “The Little Princess” (2013) as Dr. Stefan Jensen. Stinshoff has not yet played in the original series.)
In the stories of the early episodes, personal differences between the two main characters impair the investigative work, but over time they subside. The absence of Semir and Tom is explained in the pilot film Countdown on the Bridge of Death (director: Michael Kreindl / Raoul W. Heimrich) by the fact that they were injured during an operation and had to be represented by Traber and von Landitz. The rest of the line-up for the Autobahn Police is identical to the original series. Katja Woywood, who later took on the role of "boss" Kim Krüger in the main series, played a woman kidnapped by her fugitive ex-husband in the 2003 episode "Disappeared".

Working around the clock for the Cobra 11 team.
