Hendrik Alexander Duryn (born October 8, 1967 in Leipzig ) is a German actor , voice actor , singer and stuntman .

Life

Duryn is the son of Charlotte and Siegfried Duryn, a teacher couple. He attended the Thomas School in Leipzig and was a member of various children and youth theater groups in Leipzig from the age of 11. At the age of 15 he played his first leading role in the youth drama Spring Awakening at the Amateur Theater Leipzig and thus made a guest appearance at the Altenburger Theater. At the age of 18 he stood for the first time in front of the camera for the film drama Questioning the Witnesses . In the same year he played the lead role in the Defa film Vorpiel , directed by Peter Kahane.

In 1986 he passed his Abitur and also the entrance examination for the “Hans Otto” theater school in Leipzig , where he studied for four years from 1987 to 1988 after completing his military service with the NVA. He then took a postgraduate course in musicals and finished it with his first own production, Sweet Charity . Since 1993 he has been regularly engaged at various theaters in Leipzig and Halle (Saale) . He has made guest appearances at the Leipziger Schauspielhaus, the Leipzig Opera , the Cottbus State Theater and in Switzerland (Chur). From 1994 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the new theater in Halle under the direction of Peter Sodann . Furthermore, he trained as a stuntman.

During his engagement at the new theater in Halle , he often played in crime series such as the Tatort , The Men from K3 or The Investigator, and from 1995 in 35 episodes of the soap opera Verbotene Liebe . He also appeared in films from the TV series Rosamunde Pilcher , Katie Fforde and Inga Lindström as well as in a film from the series Im Tal der Wild Rosen . After his first continuous leading role in the German crime series Team Berlin , Duryn took on the male lead in 2001 in the fantasy film adaptation of Lenya - The Greatest Warrior of All Time . In 2003 he took on the lead role in the Alarm-for-Cobra-11 spin-off for Team 2 for 11 episodes. He had previously taken on leading roles in two episodes of the actual series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei . In the 2010 TV film Westflug - Kidnapping for Love , the plot of which is based on the plane hijacking from Gdansk , he was one of the main actors.

In the summer of 2009 he was the main actor in the RTL comedy series Der Lehrer , which had been produced two years earlier, but was initially stored in the archive due to a lack of public interest in this genre. Since 2013, other seasons have followed in which Duryn is part of the series' writers and producers as a script consultant. The teacher is currently in the 7th season, an 8th season is being shot this year. The production was awarded the German Television Prize in 2009 and the Comedy Prize in 2015.

Hendrik Duryn speaks audio books ( Argon Verlag ) and has been an investigator against tax waste for the show Mario Barth Reveals! been on the way.

Duryn lives in Leipzig. His daughter is the actress Nina Gummich (* 1991), who, according to Duryns, adopted him when she was 5 years old. Duryn has three brothers and a sister who, like her parents, also became a teacher. Hendrik Duryn himself never wanted to be a teacher. He is committed (as of 2018) as an ambassador for the Bärenherz children's hospice in Markkleeberg and the Glücksmomente eV association. His half-brother is the MP Svend-Gunnar Kirmes . Hendrik Duryn has been supporting a campaign by the Saxon Ministry of Culture to recruit teachers in Saxony since the beginning of March 2019.
