Tanz auf dem Hochseil is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The contribution produced by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk was first broadcast on July 26, 1998 in the program Das Erste . It is about the Tatort episode 391. For Ehrlicher and Kain , played by Peter Sodann and Bernd Michael Lade , their 17th joint case is about an alleged accident in a circus.
action
The Hain circus is a guest on the Elbe meadows in Dresden . Behind the scenes there is a huge boiling point, as the circus is in financial difficulties and the circus director Rostowsky cannot pay the employees' salaries on time.
As every evening, the highlight of the evening performance is the spectacular high-wire performance by the artists Vladimir and Anastasia. The main attraction is Vladimir's blind balancing act over the high wire. This time, however, he loses his balance under the black cloth over his head and falls to his death, because there is no safety net.
Inspector Ehrlicher, who happens to be enjoying his evening in a restaurant next to the circus, is called to the alleged scene of the accident. He quickly had doubts about an accident, the scarf that Vladimir was wearing over his head has disappeared, the inspector stumbled upon a wall of silence with the other artists and also with the circus director Rostowsky.
A little later Ehrlicher receives an anonymous message with the content: “Vladi no accident. Murder. Someone who knows. ”Ehrlicher finds out the financial difficulties of the circus and is able to determine that Rostowsky wanted to refer Vladimir to a circus in Spain, which would have earned him a substantial commission and a large part of Vladimir's fees.
When Ehrlicher finds out that Vladimir had other plans and wanted to go to Paris with his girlfriend Anastasia, Rostowsky becomes the target of the investigation. Ehrlicher also finds the missing black scarf on Anastasia's and finds out that you really can't see anything under the scarf, which rules out the possibility that Vladimir was blinded, so that an accident at the number with which Vladimir was very experienced can be excluded can.
Ehrlicher finally finds out that Lidia wrote the anonymous message to him, but remains silent about the perpetrator. Eventually he finds out that the diminutive Boris, the trainer and tutor of Vladimir, gave him an improperly balanced staff and caused him to fall to his death. As a motive, Boris concludes that Vladimir did not want to take him to Paris, which he felt was a great betrayal, after all, he taught Vladimir and Anastasia everything and is one of them.
