history

The manorial Nový dvůr / New Courtyard has been located on the site of the present village since the 17th century. The New Court was first mentioned together with other courts in 1680, when the convent of the Discalced Carmelites of St. Anna in Mannersdorf sold the Pivcova Zhoř estate to Count Rudolf Discounta zu Dornberg and Canal. It was probably built on deserted ground after the Thirty Years' War, possibly on the site of the village Křeptov, which had been extinct since the middle of the 16th century.

Until 1729 the New Court was a farm yard for the Pivcova Zhoř estate. After they were sold to Count Franz Ugarte on Velké Meziříčí , part of the courtyard's corridors were parceled out and the Nový Dvůr settlement was created around the courtyard pond, which belonged to the Zhorz estates and was called Nová Zhoř / Neu Zhorz a little later. In 1775 nine people lived in Nová Zhoř.

After the abolition of patrimonial made Nová Zhoř 1850 a district of the municipality Votin in the district administration Velké Meziříčí. At the end of the 19th century Nová Zhoř had 57 inhabitants. The remote location of the connection to the traffic routes led to the emigration of many residents in the 20th century. Until the land reform in the 1920s, the Neuhof was one of the farms in the large estate of Count Franz Harrach on Velké Meziříčí. In 1921 the village became part of the Stránecká Zhoř municipality . At the beginning of 1961 the village was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1965 Nová Zhoř was given a connecting road to the road from Měřín to Otín running west of the village. Between 1980 and 1990 Nová Zhoř belonged to Měřín as a district . In 1991 the place had 35 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 11 houses in which 33 people lived.
