history

Archaeological finds on the Stráž prove that the village has been settled since the Paleolithic . Fragments of linear ceramics were found from the older Neolithic .

It is believed that Drásov in the second third of the 13th century after the extinction of the southeast, of Všechovice village Keblany as emphyteusis was founded. Drásov was a Vladikitz and since the 13th century parish, the original little church was dedicated to St. Consecrated to Cyril. The first written mention of the uillarum Draszow was on April 4, 1238 in a document of Wenceslas I as the property of the Porta Coeli monastery . In the course of time the place was called Strazzow and Strassau . Old traditions tell of the fact that Draszow should have been a town before the Hussite Wars. In the certificate of ownership of Georg von Podiebrad for the Porta Coeli monastery, Drásov was referred to as a town in 1459 .

The parish became extinct in the 16th century and was rebuilt after the Thirty Years' War in the course of recatholicization. The oldest local seal dates from 1750, it shows four golden lily crosses from a blue field.

Until the secularization of the monastery in 1782, Drásov always remained subject to the Cistercian monastery. After that, the place was placed under the administration of the Bohemian Crown Estate, which the Porta Coeli rule sold to Wilhelm von Mundy in 1799 . He was followed in 1821 by Friedrich Schell von Wittinghoff. Wine was grown near Drásov until the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Drazov / Drassow formed a community in the Brno district and judicial district Tischnowitz from 1850 . Since 1896 Drásov belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. In 1912 an agricultural machinery factory was founded. Starting in 1918, this specialized in the repair of electric motors from Brown, Boveri & Cie. From 1923, the production of BBC engines began in Drásov and the factory was taken over by BBC. At the end of the Second World War, a military hospital was set up in the Drasow school in April 1945. 25 German soldiers who died in the hospital found their final resting place in the cemetery. After the communists came to power, the electric motor plant was nationalized. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the municipality came to the Okres Brno-venkov at the beginning of 1961 . Red sand is mined in the vicinity of the village. The electric motor plant was privatized in 1990 and is part of the ZSE group. He sold it to Siemens in 1994. Since September 24th, 2008 Drásov has again the status of Městys .

The largest company is Siemens Electric Machines sro, which produces high and low voltage asynchronous motors and synchronous generators.
