The Brno-Havlíčkův Brod railway line runs south of the village; the nearest railway stations are Řikonín and Dolní Loučky.

Neighboring towns are Vrbka, Jilmoví and Husle in the north, Horní Loučky in the Northeast, Dolní Loučky in the east, Nelepeč and Úsuší the southeast, Chytálky , Falcov and kuřimské jestřabí in the south, Kuřimská Nová Ves , Kutiny and Lubné in the southwest, Řikonín the west and Ostrov and Tišnovská Nová Ves in the northwest.

history

The village originated in the 13th century. A fortress had existed on the hill to the northwest above the village since the middle of the 13th century and served as the seat of the lords of Újezd. Újezd has been documented since 1334, when the couple Půta and Markéta von Újezd gave their right of patronage over the parish church of St. Egidius to the Augustinian monastery in Doubravník . Around 1400 the fortress fell into desolation. After the Újezd lords died out, their property fell to the Vojna von Litava family in 1469. Of these, Wilhelm II of Pernstein acquired Újezd in 1490 together with other surrounding villages. The Újezd parish became extinct in the 16th century. The Lords of Pernstein left Újezd in 1593 in the course of an exchange of goods to the Porta Coeli monastery . Until the abolition of the monastery during the Josephine reforms in 1782, Újezd remained subject to the Cistercian monastery. Subsequently, the village became part of the Porta Coeli dominion.

After the abolition of patrimonial Aujezd formed from 1850 a municipality in the Brno district and judicial district of Tischnowitz . At the end of the 19th century the village was called Oujezd and finally Újezd . In 1892 a one-class village school was inaugurated. Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. Between 1939 and 1953, the double-track railway line from Brno to Havlíčkův Brod was built south above the village . After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the village came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou at the beginning of 1961 and was also incorporated into Horní Loučky . To distinguish it from the municipality of the same name Újezd , the place has since had the official name affix u Tišnova . Archaeological excavations were carried out on the Hrádek between 1975 and 1985. Since 1990 Újezd u Tišnova has again formed its own municipality. On January 1, 2005 Újezd u Tišnova was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov . The former school now serves as the seat of the municipal office and grocery store.
