Neighboring towns are Popůvky and Troubsko in the north, Ostopovice in the northeast, Moravany in the east, Nebovidy in the southeast, Ořechovičky, Ořechov , Tikovice and Radostice in the south, U Nádraží in the west and Omice in the northwest.

history

Strzielcz was first mentioned in writing in 1375 in the founding document of the Königsfeld Charterhouse near Brno by Margrave Johann Heinrich and Elisabeth von Öttingen . The order received the village Strzielcz with the Hayholcz , the village Černovice, the vineyard in Obřany , the suburb Trnitá and the mill in Doryn from the sovereign property . At the end of the 14th century there was a plebany in Strzielcz , which can be documented for the first time with the appointment of clergyman Peter in 1393. In 1539, in a border treaty between Prior Peter and the owner of the Troubsko domain, Matthias Munk von Eibenschütz, a new border was established between Střelice and Ostopovice, in which the Charterhouse sold four fields from Střelice to create a pond. On January 12, 1782, the charterhouse on the Königsfeld was abolished in the course of the Josephine reforms and its ownership was placed under the religious fund. The monastery property was subsequently sold out and Leopold Köffiller von Seckenberg took over the Střelice farm. In 1807, Matouš Holešovský, a Střelice half-hunter, bought the farm as an emphyteutic property for 25,000 guilders. Holešovský made the extraordinary purchase, for which he would not have been wealthy enough on his own, on behalf of a community of eleven half-waiter, ten quarter-waiter, five families, nine kötners and the pastor, conductor, blacksmith and the innkeeper from Střelice. Then he divided the farm among the 39 partners.

After the abolition of patrimonial Střelice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration of Brno. In 1856 the Brno-Rossitz Railway put the Brno – Strelitz – Rossitz – Blessing of God railway into operation. In 1870, traffic on the Grusbach-Strelitz railway began. The Strelitz train station was built west of the village in an open field, where the station settlement (U Nádraží) was later built. In 1921 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. Between 1948 and 1960 Střelice belonged to the Okres Brno-okolí. After its cancellation, Střelice came back to the Okres Brno-venkov.
