history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1222 when the property of Gerhard von Zbraslav ( Gerhard ze Zbraslavi ), who was the progenitor of the lords of Kunstadt, was registered. He was followed by his eldest son Boček von Jaroslavice and Zbraslav , who bequeathed the forest belonging to him near Zbraslav to the Žďár monastery in 1255 . His brother Mikul / Mikuláš received another part of Zbraslav, he founded the line of Vladiken Mikul von Zbraslav ( Mikulova line ). There is evidence of a parish in Zbraslav since 1294. In 1334 the descendants of Mikul von Zbraslav donated their share to the Cistercian convent Aula Sanctae Mariae in Old Brno. Another part of the village was owned by the Cistercian convent Vallis Sanctae Mariae in Oslavany . In the middle of the 14th century the Zbraslav estates were very fragmented. Between 1366 and 1381 Peter Hecht von Rossitz successively acquired several shares, so that he finally owned about half of Zbraslav, with the exception of the Oslawan monastery side and the old Brno side. In total, the village had about 400 inhabitants at that time; it consisted of the parish, three courtyards, 25 hubs and 26 small estates. After the Oslavany monastery was extinguished in 1525, the Oslavany side of the monastery fell to the old Brno Cistercian monastery and both sides of the monastery were united. The side of the monastery formed the richer part of the village, it had a seal from 1615 and had its own mayor, judge and ladder. After the abolition of the Cistercian convent Old Brno, the monastery side fell to the religious fund in 1783. In 1840 this part was sold to Franz Ritter von Heintl. Heinrich Eduard Fürst Schönburg-Hartenstein bought it three years later .

After the abolition of patrimonial in 1850 the monastery side and the Rossitz side as well as Březina were united to form one municipality Zbraslav in the Brno district. The estates and forests on the side of the monastery inherited in 1872 Prince Alexander Schönburg-Hartenstein and in 1896 Prince Alois Schönburg-Hartenstein . From 1900 the municipality of Zbraslav belonged to the Velké Meziříčí district. In 1921 the Oslawan monastery forests of Prince Schönburg-Hartenstein were nationalized. In the course of the land reform of 1925, the large estate Rossitz- Eichhorn of Baron De Forest fell to the Czechoslovak state. In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. After its abolition, Zbraslav returned to the Okres Brno-venkov in 1961.
