Osiky (German Ossik , formerly Ossek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located twelve kilometers north of Tišnov and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .
geography
Osiky is located in the Sýkořská pahorkatina, a subunit of the Nedvědická vrchovina in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The village lies at the northeastern foot of the Sýkoř (702 m) on a saddle above the valley of the Besének brook in the eastern part of the Svratecká hornatina nature park. The Láze (642 m) rises to the east, the Bukový vrch (699 m) to the west and the Hrádky (627 m) to the northwest.
Neighboring towns are Brumov in the north, Bedřichov and Kunčina Ves in the east, Žleby, Kozárov and Strhaře in the south-east, Synalov and Kopaniny in the south, Běleč and Křeptov in the south-west, Černvír , Louky and Skorotice in the west and Chlébské in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of the place took place in 1390 as part of the Lomnice manor .
After the abolition of patrimonial Osík formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Brumov in the Brno district and judicial district Tischnowitz . In 1880 Osík became independent. Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz under the name Osyky . The place name Osiky has been used since 1923 . After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov, Osiky came to Okres Blansko at the beginning of 1961 . Since the beginning of 2007 the municipality belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

Attractions
- Chapel of St. Philomena with a wooden bell tower, built in 1852
- baroque branch church of St. Stanislaus, the stand-alone church was built in the 18th century to replace a sanctuary that had existed since 1407. The building, located a good kilometer south of the village, above the Besének valley, is surrounded by a cemetery used by the municipalities of Osiky, Strhaře, Brumov and Synalov.
- Remains of Osiky Castle on a wooded knoll above Stanislaus Church. The complex, whose original name is unknown, was built in the first half of the 13th century. It may be the Zuzinov Castle that cannot be located . Until the second half of the 20th century, this castle was considered to be Levnov Castle, which has been identified with the complex near Ketkovice , previously known as Ketkovský hrad , since the 1980s .

- several crosses made of Pernstein marble
- Natural monument Údolí Chlébského potoka , northwest of the village. The 13.29 hectare biotope on the Chlébský creek is protected because of its large population of spring knot flowers
- Hrádky nature reserve , a bizarrely weathered group of beech and maple trees extends over the valley of Chlébský potok. The terrain has been protected on an area of 24.92 hectares since 1990.
- Sýkoř natural monument, southwest on the mountain of the same name, on 96.45 ha is a protected beech forest area
- Natural monument Horní Židovka, south of the village, on 24.02 hectares are beech and beech-maple stands with an occurrence of whorlly toothroot.
