history
The first written mention of the village Kozarow , which belonged to the Lomnice estate and consisted of 16 houses, took place in 1601, when Charles the Elder von Zerotein sold the estate to Ulrich von Kaunitz for 20,000 guilders . During the Thirty Years' War the place became deserted and in the 1660s only nine houses were inhabited in Kozarow. The soils were not very productive, so Kozarow remained a poor village. In the course of the compulsory service, a tavern was built in the place, which received the right to pour Lomnitzer beer. In 1785 a farmer was put on display in front of the inn for poor performance of his compulsory work and was punished with giving half of his land to the tavern. In 1793 the village consisted of 20 houses.
After the abolition of patrimonial Kozárov formed with the districts Strhaře and Žleby from 1850 a municipality in the Brno district administration and judicial district Tischnowitz . In 1854 there were 207 people in the village. Since the middle of the 19th century, home weaving became more and more important as a sideline. Flax was grown in the fields and there were four flax kilns in Kozárov. In addition, some of the residents earned their living as lumberjacks in the stately forests. In 1880 Strhaře and Žleby broke up and formed their own community. House weaving reached its peak between 1880 and 1910, when at least one loom was in operation in every Kozárov house . Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. In 1900, 189 people lived in Kozárov's 36 houses. A storm with a downpour caused considerable damage on May 27, 1922. The village created a washout up to 2 m wide, and the wells and the pond were covered with sand and stone. When the Kunčina Ves manor belonging to the Lysice estate was parceled out in 1924, as part of the land reform, the residents of Kozárov were also allocated land. The following year the Kozárovský potok was regulated in the village. Between 1927 and 1931 a road to Kozárov was built. On January 1, 1928, a volunteer fire brigade was formed. During the German occupation, some residents of Kozárov supported the partisans operating in the area. On April 2, 1945, the village was surrounded by the Gestapo after it became known that it was a partisan hideout, and the Vejrosta family of five and two other residents were deported to Letovice . Marie, Josefa and Josef Vejrosta were tortured to death on April 24th. In 1959 Kozárov had 180 inhabitants. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov Kozárov came to Okres Blansko at the beginning of 1961 . On July 1, 1980 it was incorporated into Lysice. In 1988 the population had dropped to 130. The Kozárov municipality has existed again since 1990. In 2000 the village consisted of 52 houses and 114 inhabitants.
