Vanovice (German Wanowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers south of Velké Opatovice and belongs to the Okres Blansko .
geography
Vanovice is located at the southern foot of the Podorlická pahorkatina ( Eagle Mountain Foreland ) in the northern part of the Boskowitz furrow known as the Little Hanna . The village extends to the left of the Semíč stream, which rises on the western edge of the village. To the southwest rises the Nad Amerikou (553 m), in the northwest of the Čertovec (533 m) and the Kamenná svatba (589 m). The route of the unfinished Vienna-Wroclaw Reichsautobahn runs east of Vanovice . Behind it is the railway line between Chornice and Boskovice , the next station is called Světlá u Boskovic .
Neighboring towns are Velká Roudka and Borotín in the north, Uhřice and Cetkovice in the northeast, Světlá and Mořicův Dvůr in the east, Šebetov , Knínice u Boskovic and Vážany in the southeast, Sudice , Bačov and Pamětice in the south, Drválovice in the southwest, Kochov and Dvorsko in the west Novičí, Na Chlumské, Svárov, Bezděčí and Malá Roudka in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the village took place in 1176. In older scripts, the village was called Ivanovice or Ejvanovice . The owners of the place changed many times. One of them in the 16th century was Christoph von Hardegg , who became a Lutheran. In 1540 Vanovice received the first evangelical pastor. After the Battle of White Mountain , the parish became Catholic again in 1622. Although the Protestants were expelled from the country in the same year, Catholicism found little support among the population. According to the Josephine tolerance patent , 35 families accepted the Protestant denomination, only eight remained Catholic. As early as 1782, the evangelical residents asked Emperor Joseph II for permission to build a church. On October 15, 1782, a provisional Protestant prayer house was consecrated in Vanovice. In 1784 an evangelical school was established in Vanovice. From 1828 a large church began to be built at the eastern end of the village, which was largely financed as a collection of the evangelical residents of the area. Prince Kukaňský, a Catholic, donated 500 guilders. The iron striking mechanism in the towers was a gift from the British Queen. After the second church was built, two centers were formed around the churches.
After the abolition of patrimonial Vanovice formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Boskovice . At the beginning of 1961 Vanovice was assigned to the Okres Blansko and at the same time Drvalovice was incorporated.
Community structure
The municipality of Vanovice consists of the districts Drválovice ( Drbalowitz ) and Vanovice ( Wanowitz ), which also form cadastral districts.
Attractions
- Catholic Church of St. Wenceslas, the Gothic building was built in the 15th century
- Evangelical Church, built 1826–1844. It got its current appearance with the construction of the two church towers in 1863.
