history
The first written mention of the village belonging to the Kunstadt dominion came in 1374 when Heralt von Kunstadt assigned the goods in Petrov, Sulíkov , Ústup , Rudka, Makov , Rozsíčka and shares in Zbraslavec , Touboř, Sychotín and Rozseč to his wife Jitka as trousseau. In 1406 their sons Jiří and Heralt von Kunstadt inherited the property. Until the middle of the 19th century, Petrov was always subject to the Kunštát rule. The village is parish after Sulíkov.
After the abolition of patrimonial Petrov was from 1850 together with Sulíkov to the municipality Rozseč in the district administration Boskovice . In 1867 the Petrov municipality was established. The planned construction of a railway line from Skalice nad Svitavou to Bystré u Poličky in 1924 , the route of which was planned via Petrov, failed due to resistance from the municipality of Rozseč, which demanded a route across its own municipality and thus prevented construction entirely. At the beginning of 1961 the community was assigned to the Okres Blansko .
