Vřesice (German Wschesitz , formerly Brzezitz ) is a district of the municipality Sulíkov in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers west of Letovice and belongs to the Okres Blansko .

geography

Vřesice is located at the southern foot of Brablecův Kopec (546 m) in the mountains of the upper Swratka , a part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Vřesický brook has its source in Vřesice. The village is located on the northern edge of the Halasovo Kunštátsko Nature Park. To the north is the valley of the Křetínka , in which the Letovice dam was built in the northeast . To the northwest rises the Špilberk ( Spielberg , 653 m), in the west of the Povětrňák (605 m).

Neighboring towns are Křetín in the north, Lazinov and Vranová in the northeast, Kněževísko and Zábludov in the east, Ořechov and Jasinov in the southeast, Rudka in the south, Petrov in the southwest, Sulíkov in the west and Ústup in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village belonging to the Letovice domain was in 1521. At that time, the owners were the lords of Lomnitz. Jan and Jiří von Lomnice sold the manor in 1524 to Christoph von Boskowitz on Třebová . This ceded the village in 1531 to the owner of the Křetín domain , Pavel von Vojenice. Ferdinand II moved in 1618 the Vojenický property because of participation in the Moravian uprising and handed over the rule of Křetín to Friedrich Kaltenhof of Malejov. In the course of time the place name changed to Břesice , Březice and Brzezitz . After his death, Simon Kratzer von Schönsberg bought the goods at auction in 1623. At that time the village consisted of five houses. 1629 sold Kratzer the rule with the associated villages Vřesice, Vranová , Křetín , Veselka , Dolní Poříčí, Horní Poříčí , Prostřední Poříčí , Bohuňov , Studlov and Bradlné to Otto Melander von Schwarzenthal . Subsequently, there were frequent changes of ownership. In 1656 Marie Elisabeth Eggert von Grünberg bought the property, followed by Johann Walderode von Eckhausen. The Counts Walderode, from 1816 Desfours -Walderode remained the landlords of Vřesice until the middle of the 19th century. In 1790 56 people lived in the 9 houses of the village. In 1834 the village had 74 inhabitants. Limonite was mined in several shafts north of the village on Brablecův Kopec . Pottery was widespread in Vřesice due to the presence of clay.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed BREŽICE 1850 a district of the municipality Křetín in the district administration Boskovice belongs. In 1890 104 people lived in the eleven houses in the village. In 1900 Břesice had 99 inhabitants. Since 1923 the village has been called Vřesice . In 1945 there were 95 people living in the village. 1957 Vřesice was umgemeindet after Sulíkov . At the beginning of 1961 the village was assigned to the Okres Blansko . In 1998 the new chapel was consecrated, which characterizes the townscape. In 1991 the place had 67 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 36 houses in which 72 people lived.
