Kněževes (German Knezowes , also Knieschewes ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers north of Olešnice and belongs to the Okres Blansko .

geography

Kněževes is located in the Upper Swratka Mountains , part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands , on a plateau that slopes steeply to the north to the Křetínka Valley . The Na Oboře (634 m) rises to the east and the Fouska (669 m) to the west. Kněževes is located on the southern border of the Údolí Křetínky Nature Park. The village was right on the historical border between Moravia and Bohemia ; Kněževes formed a Moravian tip, which was surrounded to the south by the Bohemian region. Jobova Lhota was already on the Bohemian side.

Neighboring towns are Hlásnice, Předměstí and Dolní Lhota in the north, Hutě and Jobova Lhota in the northeast, Horní Poříčí in the east, Veselka and Ústup in the southeast, Olešnice and Lamberk in the south, Velké Tresné in the southwest, Rovečné and Dudkovice in the north and Trudkovice in the west.

history

The first mention of the village goes back to the time around 1281, when Kunigunde von Halitsch gave the place Mokra Lhota together with part of the forest as a thank you for the support with the birth and the baptism of her son by the pastor of the parish church in Deutsch Oels . Above the Křetínka, in the Bohemian region, there was a wooden hunting festival belonging to the Fürstenstein Castle , where the queen gave birth to her illegitimate son Ješek. Because of belonging to the parish, the village was given the new name Ves Knběževíska . Later it was u. a. referred to as Kniesowess and Kněžoves . In 1416, Kněževes was listed in a document from Jan von Lomnitz as part of the Louka lordship and in 1490 as the pastor Deutsch Oels. At the end of the 16th century, Kněževes became part of the Art City . In the middle of the 17th century, the rule of the Art Town claimed the labor of the residents of Kněževes for themselves. In a 29-year dispute, pastor Bernhard Voscinius was finally able to enforce his old rights. In 1790 105 people lived in the village. In 1834 Kněževes had 134 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Kněžoves 1850 a municipality in the district administration Boskovice . In 1890 the village had 133 inhabitants, in 1900 there were 161. The school was inaugurated in 1910, before lessons were held in Olešnice. Since 1923 the municipality has been called Kněževes . In 1960 there were 168 people in the parish. At the beginning of 1961 Jobova Lhota and Veselka were incorporated and the municipality was also assigned to Okres Blansko . In 1980 Kněževes consisted of 32 houses permanently used for residential purposes and had 147 inhabitants. Between 1986 and 1990 Kněževes was a district of Olešnice. The Kněževes municipality has existed again since 1991. The Veselka district has been declared a village conservation area.

The municipality Kněževes consists of the districts Jobova Lhota ( Jobowa Lhota ), Kněževes ( Knezowes ) and Veselka ( Wessella ).

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Kněževes and Veselka u Olešnice.
